The 4 beasts seen in Daniel dream is God revealing to a believer, Daniel, the world time-line and governments to come in a Godly perspective.
Nebuchadnezzar’s dream is God revealing to a non-believer, Nebuchadnezzar, the world time-line and governments to come in man’s perspective.
According to man, his/her governments are of gold silver brass iron and clay, thus they are beautiful proper and orderly, but in God eyes they are beasts.
The 4 Beasts of Daniel and Revelation
The four beasts of Daniel are four kings or governments which shall arise out of the world.
Dan 7:17: These great beasts, which are four, are four kings, which shall arise out of the earth.
Lion with eagles’ wings
Dan 7:4: The first was like a lion, and had eagle’s wings: I beheld till the wings thereof were plucked, and it was lifted up from the earth, and made stand upon the feet as a man, and a man’s heart was given to it.
Lion with eagles’ wings represents the Babylon Empire led by King Nebuchadnezzar, synonymous to the head of Gold in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream. So real, that the nation emblem of Babylon was a lion with wings.
The verse specifically speaks of king Nebuchadnezzar. He was humble by God, became a beast dwelling with beasts and eating grass like an ox for seven years. Dan 4:25: That they shall drive thee from men, and thy dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field, and they shall make thee to eat grass as oxen, and they shall wet thee with the dew of heaven.
His hair grew as log as eagles’ wings and his nails as birds’ claws. Dan 4:33: The same hour was the thing fulfilled upon Nebuchadnezzar: and he was driven from men, and did eat grass as oxen, and his body was wet with the dew of heaven, till his hairs were grown like eagles’ feathers, and his nails like birds’ claws.
After accomplishing his appointed times, the lion with eagles’ wings (Nebuchadnezzar) returned to God and he was lifted up from the earth and made to stand with two feet like a man and the heart of man given to him. Yes! after being a beasts for seven years, standing with four legs, he was made a man standing with two legs. Dan 4:36: At the same time my reason returned unto me.
A bear
Dan 7:5: And behold another beast, a second, like to a bear, and it raised up itself on one side, and it had three ribs in the mouth of it between the teeth of it: and they said thus unto it, Arise, devour much flesh.
A bear represents the Medes and Persians. First the Medes stood (one side) and then the Persians followed. The Medes and Persians had 2,500,000 men who moved like a bear on the ground because they were so large.
A leopard
Dan 7:6: After this I beheld, and lo another, like a leopard, which had upon the back of it four wings of a fowl; the beast had also four heads; and dominion was given to it.
A leopard, synonymous with the belly of brass in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream speaks of Alexander (Greece) who moved quickly only with 35,000 troupes in his army. He moved fast, struck quickly and he was brilliant in his planning and execution like a leopard. As you have seeing in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream he conquered the whole world even the Medes and the Persians. He had four generals synonymous to the four wings of a fowl which kept the troupes moving. After Alexander’s death, the four generals took over the Greece Empire thus the four heads.
The fourth Beast
Dan 7:7 After this I saw in the night visions, and behold a fourth beast, dreadful and terrible, and strong exceedingly; and it had great iron teeth: it devoured and brake in pieces, and stamped the residue with the feet of it: and it was diverse from all the beasts that were before it; and it had ten horns.
The fourth beast synonymous with the two legs of iron in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream represents the Roman Empire. The Roman Empire was brutal and it crushed every person and government to submission thus the iron teeth.
The ten horns synonymous to the ten toes in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream speak of the resurrected Roman Empire (European Union) as you have seen in Nebuchadnezzar’s dream.
The Antichrist in the 4 Beasts of Daniel
Dan 7:8: I considered the horns, and, behold, there came up among them another little horn, before whom there were three of the first horns plucked up by the roots: and, behold, in this horn were eyes like the eyes of man, and a mouth speaking great things.
In the European Union we have 12 nations but Denmark and Ireland are not part of the Big Ten. The Antichrist synonymous to the little horn will emerge within the Big Ten, take control of the European Union and knock out three countries out of the union. Dan 7:24: And the ten horns out of this kingdom are ten kings that shall arise: and another shall rise after them; and he shall be diverse from the first, and he shall subdue three kings.
Dan 7:25: And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.
The Book of Daniel is the foundation while the Book of Revelation is the expansion. So I will use the expansion to explain the foundation. Revelation chapter 13 speaks of the same beast as the Daniel’s fourth beast.
The Antichrist will blasphemy the Most High. Rev 13:5: And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.
A time in the bible speaks of one year. Times or two times (RSV) equals two years. The dividing of time or half a time equals half a year. Therefore, a time and times and the diving of time = 31/2 years which is the same as 42 months as seen in Rev 13:5.
At the end of the 42 months, the Antichrist dominion will be destroyed by one that was ancient of days (Jesus Christ) in His judgment. And God will establish His kingdom.
The last beast of the four beats of Daniel is the same beasts talked of in the Book of Revelation.
