Difference Between Being Called and Send To Preach the Gospel

There is a difference between being called and send to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ. Being called does not mean you are send to preach the gospel – for many are called but few are chosen.

Although every person is called for the gospel in one way or another, there are those called to be on the forefront in the warfare. They include prophets, apostles, evangelist, pastor, teacher, deliverers, healers, etcthese are they am speaking of.

Difference Between Being Called and Send To Preach the Gospel

1. Calling

Though from creation you are created for the gospel, you grow up knowing or not knowing until your calling time.

In calling God comes Himself to you – He speaks personally with you.

Calling is for 3 main reason;

  1. For Jesus Christ to reveal Himself personally to you
  2. Reveal who you are
  3. Reveal what you are to do

During calling, Jesus Christ reveals Himself personally to you for that strengthens you for the journey ahead of you because the journey ahead after calling is molding – being passed through fire like gold.

In the calling, God reveals to you whom He is calling you to be – a prophet, apostle, evangelist, healer, deliverer, teacher, etc and then He reveals to you what you will do – your specific assignment on earth.

When Jesus was calling Simon Peter and his brother Andrew, He revealed Himself to them and then said unto them, ‘Follow me and I will make you become fishers of men’ (Mk 1:17) – Jesus revealed their assignment on earth. But they did not go immediately to fish men – they entered into a molding process; leaving all and walking with Jesus.

You cannot walk with Christ Jesus without leaving everything. If you have not left everything, when things become tough, when the molding fire is increased, you will turn back to your old ways.

Jesus Christ calls all His servants for a specific assignment on earth. No two people are send with the same assignment on earth (next teaching).

In the molding process after calling, a servant is purified by fire like gold. Passing through fire may take a month, months, year or many years in accordance to God’s Will but it also depends on your obedience.

Many people after calling take many years in the molding process because of disobedience and rebellion and many never make it to being send to preach the gospel with power

While others when called they send themselves out to preach the gospel – they are called but not send. Satan destroys them for they lack power, the weaponry of Jesus Christ.

Every person who comes out to preach the gospel just because s/he is called but not send is destroyed by Satan.

That is why it is said, ‘many are called but few chosen’ (Mt 20:16).

Large percentage of those preaching the gospel today are called by theology, by people or they have called themselves.

2. Sending of a Jesus Christ servant

Sending is where you are told, ‘go preach the gospel’. The same way Jesus appears personally and speaks to you in the calling, is the same way He appears in sending.

It is immediately after being send when you are clothed with power – baptized with fire; mark 16 (sending) comes before Acts 2 (power)

When clothed with power, signs miracles and wonders follow you. You preach the living gospel of Jesus Christ casting out demons, healing all kinds of diseases and sicknesses, afflictions and torments. Yes, a gospel of kingdom of God not in word but in power

Reason every servant send by Jesus Christ is accompanied by miracles signs and wonders like the disciples who become the apostles

The disciples were called during the start of Jesus Christ ministry but they were not send until Jesus died on the cross, resurrected and about to ascend to heaven. From their calling to their sending it took more than 3 years.

Though Jesus send them as seen in Mark 16, they never went out immediately but went to wait for power as instructed. Though you have been send, you must wait for power. It is the power to take you out, lead you to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Power is the weaponry of the gospel of Jesus Christ.

A loving master cannot send his servants to war without weaponry but a master who wants all his servants to be killed sends them to war without weaponry. How do you go to war without a gun, and if you have a gun does the gun has bullets and can it fire?

The warfare between the kingdom of God and kingdom of darkness is a warfare of power; power fights power. You cannot get into this warfare without power for you will be killed.

Jesus never sends His soldiers to this warfare without power. It is Satan who will tell you to go out preach the gospel without power for him to destroy you.

When a person rises to preach the gospel of Jesus without power, that person is destroyed by Satan and his kingdom or they take the person to use him/her.

Gifts of the Holy Spirit are not for preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ all over the world. Gifts work only inside the church walls for edification, comfort and exhortation. See different between a prophet and gift of prophecy

When a gift is taken outside the church walls, Satan and his demons destroys it. Satan and demons are only afraid of power.

Let’s look at more examples of the difference between being called and send in the Bible

I have spoken of the disciples. They were called in the start of Jesus ministry but send after Jesus died on the cross, resurrection and was about to ascend to heaven. From calling to sending was over 3 years.

Moses, when in the palace of pharaoh knew that he was called to deliver the children of Israel from Egypt (Acts 7:22-15). Moses fled Egypt when he was 40 years old and it took another 40 years for Moses to be send on Mt. Sinai (Acts 7:30). When Moses was send, signs miracles and wonders accompanied him.

Apostle Paul calling was on the road to Damascus (Acts 9). After calling, Paul went straight to desert of Arabia for 3 years (Gal 1:15-18) where he was molded and send to preach the gospel. When Paul came from the wilderness of Arabia, signs miracles and wonders accompanied him. From calling to his sending was about 3 years.

Judas Iscariot was called in the start of Jesus ministry but never made it to sending to preach the gospel with power. Many people are called but many never make it to preaching the gospel with power.

Many people preaching the gospel today fall under these categories;

  1. Called by theology, religion, fellow humans or have called themselves
  2. Called but not send
  3. Gifts

What is the difference between the above categories and a person called and send to preach the gospel of Jesus Christ? Power – signs wonders and miracle (Mk 16:15-20).

The gospel is Jesus Christ. You cannot go preach His gospel without Him sending you otherwise you are a thief.

When a person you have not hired and send gets into your field without your permission, cultivates it then s/he comes to ask you for his/her wages, what do you do? You bind that person and cast him/her in prison for s/he is a thief.

When a person you have not hired and send gets into your house without your permission, washes and cleans it, then s/he comes for his/her wages, what do you do? You bind that person and cast him/her in prison for s/he is a thief.

Many people preaching Jesus Christ gospel are thieves. They want their wages yet Jesus Christ never called and send them to do what they are doing. Christ will bind them all and cast them in prison where the fire is not quenched and the worm never dies.

Reason Jesus said,

Mt 7:22-23: Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? And in thy name have cast out devils? And in thy name done many wonderful works? And then I will say unto them, ‘I never knew you: depart from me, ye that work iniquity’

Every person preaching the gospel not send to preach it goes to hell. If you are called but not send and you have taken yourself out preaching, also you go to hell.

Do you not know that those who preach the gospel have a stricter judgement?

James 3:1: My brethren, let not many of you become teachers, knowing that we shall receive a stricter judgment

I always say, it is better just to stay as a bride of Christ not sending yourself to preach the gospel. Many you see preaching will be in hell.

Before you come out preaching the gospel, make sure you are send otherwise, you are firewood for hell and hell never gets full

Remember being called does not mean you are send. If you come out to preach just because you are called, Satan will destroy you

If you are in the molding process, finish it and you will indeed preach a gospel of power, with signs miracles and wonders when send

If you were called but rebelled and come out preaching a gospel you are not given and send to preach, repent and go back to the molding process. When you are through, Jesus Christ will send you
