Consequences of ignoring prophecy and prophets

Ignoring prophecy and prophets
Ignoring prophecy and prophets

Prophecy and prophets reveal God. Prophecy is the word and voice of God. More than half of the Bible is prophecy but many men, even those who call themselves Christians, choose to ignore it. They do not study prophecy (the Books of prophets), heed to the voice of prophets they have today or even know prophecies. There are even denominations of Christians who totally ignore prophecy and the Books of Prophets in the Bible.

Consequences of ignoring prophecy and prophets

There are consequences of ignoring prophecy and prophets. God holds us accountable for our ignorance and not knowing prophecy, the same way Jesus held the Jews accountable for ignoring Daniel’s prophecy in the seventy weeks of Daniel.

The coming of Jesus has Messiah the Prince had been prophesied years ago by Daniel even giving the exact date. In the fulfilled weeks of Daniel 70 weeks, you have seen that the coming of Jesus was exactly prophesied.

As prophesied, on April 6th 32 AD, Jesus came in Jerusalem riding on a donkey to shouts of ‘Hosanna’. Jesus wept as He was coming into the city because the people shouted but they did not know that it was their day (Day of salvation). They shouted because of the works He had done not because of what He was entering Jerusalem to do. They did not know Bible prophecy and because of their ignorance, Jesus held them accountable.

Lk 19:41-44: And when he was come near, he beheld the city, and wept over it, Saying, If you had known, even thou, at least in this your day, the things which belong unto thy peace! but now they are hid from your eyes. For the days shall come upon you, that your enemies shall cast a trench about you, and compass you round, and keep you in on every side. And shall lay you even with the ground, and thy children within you; and they shall not leave in thee one stone upon another; because you knew not the time of you visitation.

When Jesus had ascended to heaven, the Romans came down, destroyed Jerusalem, wiped out the temple and the Jews were scattered all over the world. Israel ceased to be a nation. Jesus prophecy to them, holding them accountable, was fulfilled to the dot.

Many men have chosen to ignore and not know Bible prophecy and prophecies given by God’s appointed prophets today. As there were prophets in early times, prophets like Moses, Elijah, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Jonah and many more, even today we have God’s appointed prophets. They speak the voice of God and give God’s message to the people and ignoring them is ignoring God. Also, ignoring the Books of Prophets in the Bible is ignoring God.

Many men, even Christians, do not know past, present or future prophecies as found in the bible or prophesied by today’s prophets. So funny that some Christians read all other Bible Books of the Bible and ignore the Books of Prophets. How then will you know the times and seasons, get direction and hear the voice of God? As Jesus held the Jews accountable, He will hold you accountable for ignorance and not knowing prophecies.

Know and never ignore prophecies. It is God’s voice to you and me.

God bless you.
