Jesus Christ is not coming as a thief to us Christians. We know the rapture season, the season for the second coming of Jesus Christ but not the hour.
Jesus Christ is not coming as a thief to Christians
We, true children of God, know the rapture season. We know the season when Jesus Christ comes for the church thus He is not coming as a thief to us.
Paul says it clearly,
But of the times and the seasons, brethren, you have no need that I write unto you. For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction comes upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape (1 Thess 5:1-3).
After the above 3 verses, look keenly at what Paul says in the verses below.
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief. You are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness (1 Thess 5:4-5).
Paul defines who his brethren are; they are the children of light and the children of the day.
Who are the children of light?
While you have light, believe in the light, that you may be the children of light. These things spoke Jesus, and departed, and did hide himself from them (John 12:36).
For you were sometimes darkness, but now are you light in the Lord: walk as children of light (Eph 5:8).
The world is in darkness and every person who has not believed and accepted Jesus Christ is in darkness. The world knows not the times and seasons but we children of light know.
From the beginning, God gave (us) His children on earth lights in the firmament of the heaven for signs and seasons, and for days and years.
And God said, Let there be lights in the firmament of the heaven to divide the day from the night; and let them be for signs, and for seasons, and for days, and years (Gen 1:14).
In addition, God does not do anything without informing His children through His servants; the prophets.
Surely the Lord GOD will do nothing, but he reveals his secret unto his servants the prophets (Amos 3:7).
God was revealing to the Israelites everything before He did it and so does He reveal to us Christians.
We see God even revealing the day when Jesus was to come as ‘Messiah the prince’ and die on the cross as seen in 70 weeks of Daniel.
But because of people ignorance and not understanding times and seasons, Jesus held them accountable. See consequences of ignoring prophecy and prophets
Therefore, Jesus cannot come from heaven without informing His children; He cannot come as a thief to the children of light.
And for that reason, all over the Bible and through His prophets, God has revealed the signs and wonders in the firmaments of heaven and on earth, and the season when He comes that the day will not overtake us as a thief as stated by Paul.
But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief (1 Thess 5:4).
We, true children of God, know the seasons and times when Jesus Christ is coming. Yes! We know the rapture season and we know that Jesus Christ is not coming as a thief to us but to the world, He comes as a thief.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night. But you, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief (1 Thess 5:2, 4).
We do not know the hour
We know the season but we do not know the hour when Jesus Christ comes.
But of that day and hour knows no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only (Mt 24:36).
Watch therefore: for you know not what hour your Lord is coming (Mt 24:42).
It is the hour we do not know, not the season. Since we know the season and that the day lies within a certain season, the day will not overtake us as a thief as Paul clearly states.
But know this, that if the master of the house had known what hour the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up (Mt 24:43)
Therefore you also be ready: for in such an hour as you think not the Son of man comes (Mt 24:44).
Jesus is speaking of the hour not the season.
See also the parable of the ten virgins (Mt 25)
We know the season. We know the day lies in a certain season but we do not know the hour.
Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man comes (Mt 25:13).
The world is in darkness but we, true children of God are not but many claim to be Christians while truly they are not.
When you ask a person if s/he know the season when Jesus comes and s/he says no and runs to quote one-Bible-verse, that person is in darkness; hypocrite.
O you hypocrites, you can discern the face of the sky; but can you not discern the signs of the times? (Mt 16:3)
Yes! Hypocrites are of the world and they cannot discern times and seasons, and the signs of the times.
When asked when Jesus is coming, many people run to quote this verse
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so comes as a thief in the night (1 Thess 5:2) and any other verse that says Jesus will come as a thief.
I do not expect a child of light to be quoting this verse and other verses like this. They are for those in darkness; for the world.
Do not be in darkness, do not be of the world, a hypocrite, but come to the light today for you to discern the times and seasons, and the signs of the times.
As Paul advised the Galatians so I advise you
You observe days, and months, and times, and years (Gal 4:10).
We know the judgment day
We know the day when Jesus Christ comes to the Armageddon battle and to judge. It is the day of rapture we do not know; It is only in rapture when Jesus comes as a thief to the world but not to Christians.
You can see the day when Jesus Christ steps on Mount Olives, comes to judge the world, in the 70 weeks of Daniel and as I will reveal later.
