Love Your Enemies – Why Do You Pray Bad to Befall Your Enemies?

Why do today ‘so-called-Christians’ pray bad to befall their enemies yet Jesus teaches us to love our enemies?

Mt 5:44 But I tell you, love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them who spitefully use you, and persecute you

Love Your Enemies – Why Do You Pray Bad to Befall Your Enemies?

By His grace, God allows me severally to listen to people prayers – people close to me, those I know and don’t.

Severally I have listened to people pray bad to befall Joshua. I have listened to people praying God to punish and judge Joshua. I have listened to people pray bad to befall others.

It pains my heart when I hear such prayers – when a person has the audacity to go before God and ask for bad or judgment to befall others.

What does God see when you are praying bad to befall your enemies? God sees hatred in your heart – God sees a murdered as written,

1 John 3:15: Whosoever hates his brother is a murderer and you know that no murderer has eternal life abiding in him

Jesus teaches us to do what we want others to do to us

Mt 7:12: So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets

As you pray bad to befall another person, is that what you want be done unto you?

Remember, it is not the people you do bad or pray bad to who retaliate that to you but God does it for vengeance belongs to God (Deut 32:35). If you bless and do good to others, God will bless and do good to you too. If you hate and do bad to others, God will do the same unto you too.

Why do people pray bad to befall others? Because it is Satan in their heart making them do such an abomination. See Satan is a spirit in people

Many of the people who pray bad to befall others rejoice when an enemy falls

Prov 24:17-18 Do not rejoice when your enemy falls and let not your heart be glad when he stumbles, lest the Lord see it and be displeased

When your enemy falls, go give him/her a hand lift him/her up – in that manner you will have preached more to him/her than you can with your mouth

Job was righteous and blameless before God (Job 1:1). Job reveals that rejoicing destruction of those who hate you is an iniquity deserving judgment, it is denying God and Job never did it

Job 31:28-29 this also would be an iniquity deserving of judgment, for I would have denied God who is above. If I have rejoiced at the destruction of him who hated me, or lifted myself up when evil found him.

You want to be righteous before God like Job? Love – never pray bad to befall others or rejoice when others fall

If you cannot love the person you see, you cannot love God whom you do not see.

1 John 4:20 whoever claims to love God yet hates a brother or sister is a liar. For whoever does not love their brother and sister, whom they have seen, cannot love God, whom they have not seen.

Many of today ‘so-called-Christians’ are liars – they claim to love God yet hating, abusing, persecuting and gossiping the human beings they see.

God judges – He can utter judgment upon a person, nation or people through you but you do not pray for judgment to befall others. When God utters judgment upon a person or people, you run back to Him to intercede for that person or people.

When God revealed His judgment of Sodom and Gomorrah to Abraham thus to entire earth, Abraham never prayed for judgment to befall them but interceded for the righteous and because of him Lot and his family were saved.

God has uttered His judgment to nations, people and individuals through His vessel. I have to utter it as God spoke it for I am His mouth but as a person, a servant of Christ Jesus, I have to stand in the gap interceding especially for the righteous.

The work of God prophets and people with gift of prophecy is to stand in the gap for deliverance and salvation not to sit down wait and watch prophecy or dreams being fulfilled like Jonah. See difference between a prophet and spirit of prophecy

Do not be a diviner who celebrate when bad befalls others. See difference between divination and prophecy. Cerebrate or rejoice when a soul is delivered and saved (Luke 15:7,10).

Jesus enemies when He was on earth in His Ministry were many than yours but He loved everyone (For God loved the world that He gave His one and only Son John 3:16). Imitate Him – be like Him.

Many people want to serve God but because of the hate in their hearts, God cannot allow them because that hate will destroy others and destroy them too. One characteristic of all true Jesus Christ servants is love – human beings are not the enemy, the enemy is only the devil (John 10:10, 1Peter 5:8).

True Jesus Christ servants and Bride of Christ are hated, they have no hate in themselves but only love; persecuted, they persecute none but pray for their persecutors; abused, they abuse none; cursed, they bless all; rejected, they welcome all.

Hate is beyond sin – hate is Satan himself. Sin you will repent, be forgiven and washed by Christ blood. With hate you perish – go to hell because there is no forgiveness for hate for hate itself carries unforgiveness, hate does not forgive others thus God does not forgive you too (Mt 6:15). To enter heaven, hate must not be in you.

Hate is a prison, a bondage that shuts your life and shuts you from God. People think that by hating another person they are doing good to themselves and bad to the other person who wronged them, but in reality they are destroying themselves while the person they are hating may be living freely without hate in him/her.

Forgiveness begins in you, in your heart. If you forgive instantly every person who wrongs you whether they ask for forgiveness or not, you will live a free life from burden of Satan chains and close to Jesus Christ.

Repent for every prayer you have prayed bad to befall others; love – do not hate any human being

Repent for every abuse, curse, persecution, gossip and rumor-mongering you have done to others

The enemy is not a human being in flesh but the devil

But love your enemies, and do good, and lend, expecting nothing in return; and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He Himself is kind to ungrateful and evil men (Lk 6:35)
