Rapture is Biblical. Rapture is from God. It is part of God’s plan of saving humanity.

There is always an event which marks the end of one dispensation and the start of another dispensation. See the dispensations.

As the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ marked the end of the dispensation of the law and the start of the dispensation of grace so is the rapture. Rapture marks the end of the dispensation of grace and the start of the great tribulation.

Some deny rapture; they deny the caught up of the church.

Rapture is Biblical

Rapture is not a word used in the Bible.

The Bible was first written in Latin and the Latin word used for rapture is ‘rapturo’. The Bible was then translated to Greek and the word used is ‘harpazo’ meaning ‘to seize upon by force’ or ‘to snatch up’. Finally the Bible was translated into English and the word used for rapture is ‘caught up’.

Therefore the word rapture comes from the word ‘rapturo’, ‘harpazo’ meaning to seize upon by force, to snatch upon by force or caught up.

‘Rapturo’, ‘harpazo’, ‘caught up’, or ‘snatch up’ is in the Bible (See the word used in the Bible version you’re using).

1Thess 4:16-17: For the Lord Himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

Almost all words in our English Bible are translations from Hebrew, Latin and Greek expressions, and are, therefore, not in the Bible in the form we know them. ‘God’ is a proper and meaningful translation of certain words in the original languages, and ‘Jesus’ is a good translation for us of His name (Yeshua, ‘Joshua’, ‘The Lord Saves’ in Hebrew). In the same way, the English word ‘rapture’ which means ‘to be caught up’ is an excellent translation for the Latin ‘rapturo’, Greek ‘harpazo’.

Since the Bible does not use the word rapture, it does not mean that rapture is untrue; not Biblical. Rapture is Biblical.

Rapture was revealed to me and how it will happen, see vision of rapture to me, and so many times Jesus comes to tell me that He is coming now to catch up (rapture) the church.

Rapture is only for those in Christ.

1 Thess 4:16-17 …and the dead in Christ shall rise first. Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air.

How do you be in Christ?

1.     Believe and confess Jesus Christ

Rom 10:9: That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in thine heart that God has raised him from the dead, you shall be saved.

2.     Walk in Christ (in righteousness)

There is nothing like ‘once saved always saved’. People fall away from Grace; they get out of Christ.

Gal 5:4: Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; you have fallen from grace.

And people turn away from Jesus Christ.

Gal 1:6 I marvel that you are turning away so soon from Him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel

And not all who start a race finish it and receive a prize.

1Cor 9:24: Know you not that they which run in a race run all, but one receives the prize? So run, that you may obtain.

Unrighteousness leads to damnation.

2 Thess 2:12: That they all might be damned who believed not the truth, but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Rom 1:18: For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness

Rom 1:29-32: Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful; who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

1Cor 6:9-10: Know ye not that the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God? Be not deceived: neither fornicators, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor effeminate, nor abusers of themselves with mankind, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners, shall inherit the kingdom of God.

Run away from evil.

1Thess 5:22: Abstain from all appearance of evil.

Rapture is Biblical, real, coming and only for those in Christ.  


  1. There is something about rapture I honestly and truly do not understand, as these words from Jesus seem to contradict. Follow the sequence of events here in Matt 24 from verse 29-31.

    The Arrival of the Son of Man

    29 “Immediately after the suffering of those days, the sun will be darkened, and the moon will not give its light; the stars will fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven will be shaken.

    30 Then the sign of the Son of Man will appear in heaven, and all the tribes of the earth will mourn. They will see the Son of Man arriving on the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.

    31 And he will send his angels with a loud trumpet blast, and they will gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

    Can someone please shed some light on this?

      Yea, so I’m looking at this too and trying to understand the biblical timeline, but it’s important to note that the disciples asked two questions and got two answers in one. 1st question is about the destruction of the temple the 2nd about his return. As I am doing my research 70 AD and the destruction of the temple has already taken place, now we all wait for Christ’s second coming. Paralleling this with Daniel we are in that period between the 69 and 70th week. So I think verse 29 of Mathew ends the question of the temple and verse 30 introduces his second coming (Acts 1:11).

    • There are 2 advents of Christ’s coming – (1) when Jesus was bornm the Christmas that we know. (2) Second coming which has two Phases (a) Rapture, this will be private, He will come as a thief in the night, mentioned in I Cor. 15 and 2 Thess 4. (b) His coming in power and great glory, reference is what you just quoted, where He will return in public, all will behold His glory. He will step on Mt. Of Olives, and it will break in two parts. Mentioned by Zechariah. This was mentioned in the latter part of Rev. Chapter 20 when after the Marriage Supper of the Lamb Jesus Christ will come down from heaven with His Army.       • You have to read rapture into those passages. You referenced. You are right that there are two advents, but by dividing the rapture from the second coming you now have three advents. If you read scripture plainly, the second coming will see Jesus gathering the saints unto himself. But if you start with the belief in pre-trib rapture you can read it into anything you want.

        • You are right Pastor Brian. The problem with the pre-tribulation rapture theory is that it creates a third advent of the Messiah which is not biblical. According to 1Thes. 4 the catching up is at the end when the dead in Christ rise and we together with them are caught up to be with The Lord. If you study history, you see that the greatest deception concerning prophecy is not to deny it, but to give it a future date. The inquisition saw over 50 million believers killed, which to me is part of the great tribulation since there has not been such a great slaughter of christians since, though christians have been going through tribulation all through the ages. Theories of a futuristic antichrist were introduced by jesuit scholars like Francisco Ribera who wrote a 500 page commentary claiming that the antichrists’ reign will be in the future- 7 years before the end. This was an effort to deflect blame from the RCC concerning the inquisition. Believers must wake up and realize the times we’re living in. Shalom

  2. Another question: I see that in Revelation 3 it says that the church of Philadelphia will be spared, not the other six churches. Now we know that these churches depict different types of Christians. So it seems that only those who live as He wanted, will escape but that those who are a bit less careful may miss rapture? This is a logical deduction but yet not a conclusion, as my understanding may be very wrong. How do you understand this?

    Also, it is better to err on the safe side instead of taking chances with Fate, don’t you think? So I see my duty is to encourage believers into letting themselves steered by Holy Spirit guidance, which is the exact opposite of gut feel.

    • Your interpretation is based on the preconceived notion of rapture. What if you just read without the preconceived notion? The hour of trial seems to refer to judgment. Take the whole sentence into consideration. “I will keep you from the hour of trial that is coming on the whole world, to try those who dwell on the earth.” The hour of trial is to “try” humans (those that dwell on the earth). Christians, those who keep God’s word, will not be judged/condemned for the blood of Christ covers us.

  3. There are many false teachings going around in Christianity and pre-tribulation rapture is one those false teachings that are not Biblical. I would like to address several of the errors you made in your article. First of all, Dispensationalism is a false doctrine invented in the 1800’s and is not found in the Bible, so there is no dispensation of law or dispensation of grace. Second error is that the rapture of the saints occurs before the great tribulation. In Matthew 24 Jesus is describing the same event described in 1 Thessalonians 4:16-17 and Jesus says it will happen after the great tribulation. This will be the day of the resurrection of the saints. It will also be the day of the LORD. The great tribulation is not God’s wrath; they are separate events.

    You said “Rapture is only for those in Christ.” This is not true according to the Bible. The word rapture is transliterated from the Latin Rapturo or from the Greek Harpazo. The word Harpazo/Rapturo is a verb that means to seize, carry off by force, or to seize on, claim for one’s self eagerly, or to snatch out or away. The word occurs 17 times in 13 verses in the Greek concordance.

    In Matthew 13:19 the Greek word harpazo is used in reference to the wicked one doing the catching away, and in at least one instance it’s men wanting to “catch” Jesus. So as you can see the rapture can be done by God, the devil or men (see John 6:15).

    In 1Thess 4:17 it uses the word harpazo to explain the catching away of the saints to meet the Lord in the air. In Matthew 24:31 it does not use that word, but it does say the angels will “gather together his elect” meaning the saints will be caught up together. Just because the same word is not used, does not mean it is not describing the same event. It’s just using different words or showing a different perspective. But the event is the same if you study it closely, you’ll see in verse 30 the Son of man will come in the clouds of heaven and angels are present, the same thing that is described in 1 Thess 4:17. In 1 Thessalonians 5 it refers to this event as the day of the LORD. In 2 Thessalonians 2 it tells us that the catching away of the saints will not happen until the Antichrist is revealed first. Believers in Christ will be on earth during the great tribulation period.

  4. That scripture 1 Thes 4:15-16 is not referring to the rapture. Christ will return once more but not twice more. That is referring to his final return. I believe the rapture is NOT biblical and is a false doctrine given to deceive followers of Jesus.

  5. And I say Mark RIGHT RIGHT RIGHT! Christians will have to go through the Great tribulation. The anti Christ will be revealed and Christians will be persecuted. Thankfully those days will be shortened. Matthew 24:22.

      • Joshua, you are correct. I think what people fail to understand is that not everyone will see the coming of the Lord for the Rapture, that is why it is secret! We are grafted into the Jewish roots from the Olive Tree, In a Jewish wedding there is first a spiritual commitment to each other first (the engagement, and gifts are given) with us this is the Holy Spirit when we are born again and have surrendered out lives to Jesus. After this is done, the groom goes to his Fathers house (John 14:1-3 (KJV)

        14 Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.

        2 In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

        3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.)
        to make a room for his wife, she has no idea how long this will take place and is waiting, watching for the bridegroom to return. When the bridegroom comes for his bride he takes her to the wedding supper and in Jewish tradition is in hiding for 7 days. ( from what I have read on Jewish weddings).( 7 year tribulation!) People should remember that Jesus is Jewish, we are grafted in….We will be celebrating the Jewish Holidays in Lev. 23, in the Millennium, forever and forever. Also in Matthew 24, I believe the saints in that Chapter and the people left behind that has come to Jesus and believe in Him during the great Tribulation. The world goes to pot when there are no longer Christians in the world, the people left behind were not committed to Jesus only darkness is in the world, yet some will come to realize that people were correct when they heard the Word but did not believe and will surrender and repent and ask Jesus to Lead them, I believe at this time a great revival will happen. That is not saying that some will loose there lives for sticking to there Faith in Jesus. When the Rapture happens the period of Grace and Peace are over. All the Praise and Glory to our God in Heaven and His son Our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Halleluiah!

  6. The Harpazo or Rapture is a mystery as Apostle Paul taught the Corinthians. Flesh & blood will not be able to inherit (enter) The relationship As clearly taught by brother Jodhua is of A groom (Christ) and His Bride, the spotless without wrinkle glorious Church.
    The Apostle wrote to the thessalonians to keep persevering in the Faith despite persecutions and afflictions they were suffering. To those that persecuted them it was a sign of their impending doom. Paul the Apostle could say these things because the early church lived with the knowledge that Jesus could come back at any moment, the imminence of His return for His Church (notwithstanding the great falling away, the coming of the Antichrist to decieve the godless and unfaithful, the Holy Spirit & Bride (Church) restraining until taken out of the way)
    and therefore the condemnation of those persecutors and godless left to suffer Gods Just wrath during the tribulation. The Apostle encouraged them saying that the faithful Sanctified Church would be spared this wrath and this was to comfort them in trials and persecutions, and they were exhorted to go on and obtain the same Glory of The Lord to which they were called to (The Faith) 2 Thes 2:13-14, “”But we ought always to thank God for you, brothers and sisters loved by the Lord, because God chose you as firstfruits to be saved through the sanctifying work of the Spirit and through belief in the truth. He called you to this through our gospel, that you might share in the glory of our Lord Jesus Christ.””
    1 Thess 1:9-10 “”For they themselves shew of us what manner of entering in we had unto you, and how ye turned to God from idols to serve the living and true God; And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.””

    -The Lord has called us by the Gospel To Obtain the Glory of the Lord
    -To be like Christ The First Fruits (James 1:18) (Rom 8:23)
    By the Sanctifying work of the Spirit in the Church
    -Again, to Share in the Glory of Our Lord.
    -To wait for our groom from heaven
    -thereby to escape the wrath to come, Because He already has done so
    —-Faith—- All Godliness—All Holiness—by Sanctifying Work of The Spirit.—
    To make the Catching Away (Harpazo. Grk- Rapturo. Lat) and so be found like Him at His appearing (1 John 3:2)

    “Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.”
    Revelation has come to the church noting that there are 3 events involved in harvesting as per the teachings in the Old Covenant. 1. First fruits 2. Harvest 3. Gleanings. The sanctified Church-body of believers since Pentecost are Firstfruits in Christ. Firstfruits are the first of the harvest to ripen or mature!
