Righteousness

Righteousness: - 2 types of righteousness
Righteousness: – 2 types of righteousness

Righteousness is sinless, without sin. Sinless comes with forgiveness of sins and justification in Jesus Christ. Being justified is being as though never sinned.

2 types of righteousness

There are 2 types of righteousness

  1. Own righteousness or righteousness by law
  2. Righteousness by faith

Php 3:9: And be found in him, not having mine own righteousness, which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith.

1. Own righteousness or righteousness by law

Own righteousness which is righteousness by the law and doing the works of the law is also referred to as Pharisees or scribes righteousness.

There is neither justification nor salvation in own righteousness or righteousness by the law.

Mt 5:20: For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven.

Gal 3:11: But that no man is justified by the law in the sight of God.

Gal 2:16: Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

2. Righteousness by faith

Righteousness by faith is by grace in Jesus Christ; the righteousness of God.

Righteousness by faith is only attained by great faith in Jesus Christ.

Gal 5:5: For we through the Spirit wait for the hope of righteousness by faith.

Rom 3:22: Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ…..

Every person righteous by faith is justified, just though never sinned. His/her sin’s penalty was paid once and for all on the cross by Jesus Christ; Jesus paid the ransom.

Rom 3:24, 26: Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus. To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness: that he might be just, and the justifier of him which believeth in Jesus.

Rom 3:24: Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Gal 2:16: Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.

Salvation is only by grace through faith in Jesus Christ.

Every person righteous by faith will inherit the kingdom of heaven and be crowned the crown of righteousness.

Do you have your own righteousness, righteousness by the law, or are you righteous by faith, the righteousness of God?

You have the time now to make you choice. Choose wisely; choose righteousness by faith to be crowned in heaven the crown of righteousness.

God Bless
