3 Reasons to Honor God

There are 3 reasons to honor God. Honoring God is the first most important primary priority and principle a person must do to God.

Every person must know how to honor God. When we honor God we do it for ourselves not for God.

3 Reasons to Honor God

When you honor God, that simple sign may not carry a greater meaning to you and many times you may ignore it. But to God and the spiritual world, that simple sign carries a greater meaning which is beyond human understanding.

The 3 reasons to honor God are;

1. It is a command that we must obey

In Ten Commandments, the first three deals with honor to God.

God says, ‘you shall not bow down yourself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers’ (Ex 20:5). It is only He who you must bow down to not any graven image or idol.

Phil 2:10: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth.

O come, let us worship and bow down: let us kneel before the LORD our maker (Psalms 95:6).

Proverbs 3:9: Honor the LORD with your substance, and with the first fruits of all your increase.

2. To receive what we ask God

Wrong ways of honoring God makes us not to receive what we ask in prayers.

See this from Apostle Peter when asking God to resurrect Tabitha. He knew the right way to do it.

But Peter put them all forth, and kneeled down, and prayed; and turning him to the body said, Tabitha, arise. And she opened her eyes: and when she saw Peter, she sat up (Act: 9:40).

When Jesus was praying to His father, He was always honoring Him by bowing down. Luke 22:41: And he was withdrawn from them about a stone’s cast, and kneeled down, and prayed.

To receive what you ask for, honor God; acknowledge his dominion and authority.

3.  For spirit to come above the body and soul

Physically bringing down the body to honor God also brings the souls down too.

When the body is down, the soul comes down too and the spirit is lifted above the body and the soul to meet with God (God is spirit). You will never experience intimacy with God when the body or soul is above the spirit.

As brought out in the moving hand not attached to a body touching me, we are a trinity; the body (physical), the soul and the spirit. The soul and the spirit are in a vessel; the body, which is physical.

To honor God means first to lower down our physical self; which is the body, for the soul to be lowered (remember the soul is in the body) and the spirit to rise above the body and the soul.

The soul is the mind, desire, needs, wants, and all worldly needs are related to the soul.

Lowering your soul means that you have given God all yourself and everything you own. And because we use the spirit to communicate to Him, the spirit is lifted above (comes above) the body and the soul and one experiences a high level intimacy, a one on one direct communication with God.

The same thing which happens in fasting.

During fasting, the body and soul are brought down (lowered) by taking away their needs and desires, and the spirit is allowed to rise above the body and the soul.

As the spirit rises up and since God is spirit,  a person experiences an intimacy with God which is beyond human understanding. Reason fasting is important and reason God power, miracles, revelation, and works  are experienced during fasting.

Ask yourself why men have dreams and visions when their bodies are not active i.e. when they are asleep?

Every person who has been or is in the spiritual world (like me) will total agree with me that it is until the spirit comes above the body and the soul that one is able to communicate with the spiritual world. God is Spirit.

These are the 3 reasons to honor God and there are 3  best body prayer positions to honor God.
