What the Bible teaches about rape

The Bible teaches about rape. It reveals light on rape.

What is Rape?

Rape is the act of having sexual intercourse with a person against his/her will.

Having sexual intercourse willing is not rape.

The way Adam and Eve disobeyed God resulting to death of humans, every sin has a consequence.

Many people tempt God and this is a sin with a consequence. God is not tempted. See how we tempt God.

You will not take yourself to the den of rapists, be raped and say you went there unwillingly. Did any person force you?

You will not dress to be lusted after, be raped and justify your ways. Why did you dress to be lusted after, like a whore, making your brother/sister sin?

You will not be in a hotel room with a man or woman you know can rape you, be raped and justify your ways. What were you doing there?

You will not be a drunkard, be raped and justify your ways. Why be a drunkard?

These are just few examples of how we tempt God and because of our sin, we fall to the trap of Satan and Satan bruises us.

Why fall to Satan’s (serpent) trap if you do not want to be bruised? Why take yourself to the dens of rapists if you do not want to have sex or be raped? Satan will definitely bruise you. Stop tempting God.

Sin has consequences and to some people, being raped is a consequence of tempting God (sinning). See consequences of sin.

If you tempted God and you were raped, repent. Yes! The rapist sinned but you sinned before the rapist sinned. You fell on Satan’s trap and he bruised you.

What the Bible teaches about rape

Deut 22:25: But if a man find a betrothed young woman in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die.

Deut 22:26- 27: But unto the young woman you shall do nothing; there is in the woman no sin worthy of death. For he found her in the field, and the betrothed woman cried, and there was none to save her.

A betrothed man or woman has already agreed to marry that other person thus s/he is a husband or wife.

If a man/woman forces sex or rapes a betrothed or married man/woman and the betrothed/married cries for help but no one helps, the betrothed/married has not sinned but the rapist has.

Cried for help means had sex unwillingly thus raped.

If the betrothed/married man/woman does not cry for help that means s/he willingly had sex and that is not rape thus both the rapist and the victim have sinned.

Deut 22:23: If a young woman who is a virgin betrothed to a husband and a man find her in the city, and lie with her.

Deut 22:24: Then you shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and you shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, being in the city; and the man, because he has humbled his neighbor’s wife: so you shall put away evil from among you.

God sees our hearts thus He knows if you have had sex willingly or unwillingly.

If a betrothed or married person haves sexual intercourse (willingly or unwillingly) with another person not her/his spouse, that is adultery reason Mosaic Law demanded death of both the rapist and the willing victim.

See what the Bible teaches on adultery and what constitutes a marriage according to the Bible.

If un-betrothed or unmarried person haves sex (willingly or unwillingly) with another unmarried person, a marriage has been constituted in the eyes of God.

The two of you have become one flesh; see how two become one flesh, thus married in the eyes of God. You should do what the custom dictates and not divorce one another for the rest of your days.

God is just.

Isa 45:21…a just God and a Savior; there is none beside me.

If you have raped any person, ask the person for forgiveness, then repent. There is no sin which God cannot forgive except blasphemy of the Holy Spirit.

If you have been raped, let God be your shoulder to lean on and He will miraculous heal you. Do not be afraid to seek counseling.

In addition, if you have been raped, you have become one flesh with that rapist thus man and wife but you do not have to marry that rapist against your will. For this reason Jesus died on the cross.

Jesus Christ breaks that bond formed to become one flesh. Seek Him. He will forgive and forget if you become one flesh with another person and you will be born anew, free to marry the person of your will.

God did not create humans to rape one another. Rape is going against God’s creation plan and it is a sin.

God bless
