Rev 13 reveals 2 beasts; one beast rising out of the sea and another beast coming up out of the earth.
Rev 13:11: And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth
In previous teaching we studied the beast rising up out of the sea. See beast rising up out of the sea.
Rev 13 – Beast Coming up out of the Earth
The beast rising up out of the sea is different from the beast coming up out of the earth.
The beast rising up out of the sea has 7 horns and 10 heads, like a leopard, feet like feet of a bear, mouth like mouth of a lion (Rev 13:1-2), whom we have seen is the Antichrist.
The beast coming up out of the earth has 2 horns like a lamb
Rev 13:11: And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb
This beast speaks like a dragon – dragon referring to Satan (Rev 12:9)
Rev 13:11: And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spoke as a dragon
This means that the beast has power from Satan
This beast makes people worship the first beast – Antichrist
Rev 13:12: And he exercises all the power of the first beast before him, and causes the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.
As we have seen earlier, worshiping Antichrist is worshiping Satan (Rev 13:4)
The beast coming up out of the earth has a name.
When Antiochus Epiphanes, who is Antichrist prototype did the abomination of the desolate in the temple as prophesied by Daniel, he overthrew the legitimate high priest in the temple ‘Onias’ and placed a false one, a man called Menelaus. See Antiochus Epiphanes.
Antichrist will do the same thing Antiochus Epiphanes did. He will brutally overthrew the legitimate High Priest in the temple and place a false one, who is the second beast – the beast coming up out of the earth.
This second beast, beast coming up out of the earth, illegitimate high priest is called the ‘the false prophet’ – his name is revealed in the following Bible verses
Rev 16:13: And I saw three unclean spirits like frogs come out of the mouth of the dragon, and out of the mouth of the beast, and out of the mouth of the false prophet.
Rev 19:20: And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image
Rev 20:10: And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.
Satan imitates the ‘Holy Divine Trinity’ by having his own trinity; Satan, antichrist and the false prophet – you can see that clearly in the above quoted Bible verses.
In the great tribulation period, Satan (the Dragon) will give power authority sit and raise the Antichrist (beast rising up out of the sea) while Antichrist will raise the Second beast (beast coming up out of the earth); the false prophet. The false prophet will lead people to worship Antichrist and by worshiping Antichrist, they will be worshiping Satan.
The false prophet will do miracles deceiving many
Rev 13:13-13: And he does great wonders, so that he makes fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men, and deceives them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.
The false prophet will tell people on earth to make an image to the beast wounded and miraculously healed (Antichrist) as said, ‘saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live’
It is from the above quoted verse that we know Antichrist will be wounded by a sword as said, ‘which had the wound by a sword, and did live’
The first beast (Antichrist) resembles a lion (Rev 13:2). In the Bible, a beast which resembled a lion was Nebuchadnezzar the leader of the Babylon Empire. See Daniel dream of the beasts. Nebuchadnezzar foreshadows the Antichrist.
Nebuchadnezzar build an image of gold and decreed every person to kneel down and worship it when music played. See the image of Nebuchadnezzar. Antichrist will do the same.
An image of the beast (Antichrist) will be made and people decreed to worship it. The image will be given power to speak and cause them that not worship it be killed
Rev 13:15: And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed
And many will receive a mark on their right hand and in their foreheads
Rev 13:16: And he causes all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads
At this time, to buy or sell it will be a must for you to have the mark, name of the beast or the number of his name – clearly claiming allegiance to antichrist
Rev 13:17: And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.
This mark is a clearly sign of allegiance to antichrist that spares your life from being killed.
It’s at this time when some will deny worshiping Satan, mark of the Antichrist and claiming allegiance to Antichrist and choose to die for Jesus Christ sake and Antichrist will prevail against them and martyr them all. This are they referred to as ‘Tribulation Saints’.

The number of the beast, number of his name is 666
Rev 13:18: Here is wisdom. Let him that has understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is 666
The New Testament was written in Greek. In Greek letters have numbers. The number of the beast in Greek will be 666.
Jesus prophesied the rise of the Antichrist and false prophet saying
Mt 24:24: For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall show great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
‘False christs’ refers to the ‘Antichrist’ while ‘false prophets’ refer to the ‘false prophet’ – they are they to show great signs and wonders. The elect are the Jews – the house of Jacob.
Time is at hand
The first beast, Antichrist is already here on earth rising – rising up out of the sea
Great tribulation period is at hand
Jesus is Coming
Repent Repent Repent
Repent for the kingdom of heaven is at hand
