Righteousness is a Robe with Jesus Christ Attained by Faith not Works

Righteousness is a Robe with Jesus Christ attained by faith not works. Righteousness is with Jesus Christ and it is Him who covers/cloths us with the robe of righteousness.

Righteousness is a Robe with Jesus Christ

Isaiah 61:10: I will greatly rejoice in the LORD, my soul shall be joyful in my God; for He has clothed me with the garments of salvation, He has covered me with the robe of righteousness, as a bridegroom decks himself with ornaments, and as a bride adorns herself with her jewels.

Righteousness is a robe with Jesus Christ

We see Joshua the High Priest clothed with robe of righteousness.

Zec 3:1, 3-4: And he showed me Joshua the high priest standing before the angel of the LORD, and Satan standing at his right hand to resist him. Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and stood before the angel. And he answered and spoke unto those that stood before him, saying,’ Take away the filthy garments from him’.  And unto him he said, ‘Behold, I have removed you iniquity from you, and I will clothe you with rich robes’.

Jesus Christ takes away our unrighteousness; filthy garments (iniquity, transgressions and sin) and cloths us with rich robes – robes of righteousness.

The robe of righteousness is a fine, linen, clean and bright, the robe which the entire Bride of Christ will be clothed with.

Rev 19:8: And to her was granted that she should be arrayed in fine linen, clean and white: for the fine linen is the righteousness of saints.

Who grants that a person be clothed with the robe of righteousness?

It is Jesus Christ as we see with Joshua the High Priest in heaven. The robe is owned by Jesus Christ.

Jesus is the only person who lived a righteous life on earth, dying blameless, spotless on the cross for our sake. He is the righteous one.

1 John 2:1: … Jesus Christ the righteous

All human being are sinners – clothed in filthy garments.

Rom 3:23: For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God

If you deny that you are not a sinner, the TRUTH is not in you

1 John 1:8: If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

On the cross Jesus Christ paid the ransom for the robe of righteousness with His blood reason His own robe is dipped in blood.

Rev 19:13: And he was clothed with a robe dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.

The Word of God, the gospel is Jesus Christ. See what is the gospel?

Through the blood He shed on the cross, His robe dipped in blood we receive the robe of righteousness.

The blood of Jesus Christ washes all our sins away.

1 John 1:7: But if we walk in the light, as He is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son washes us from all sin.

Mt 26:28: For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.

When God is saying to Joshua the High Priest, ‘Behold, I have removed you iniquity from you’, He is saying that He is washing away all his sins, iniquity and transgression with His blood.

It is only Jesus Christ blood which washes away sin.

Before being clothed with the robe of righteousness, a person’s sins have to be first washed away.  God cannot cloth a person with robe of righteousness on top of filthy garments.

Righteousness is a robe bought by Jesus Christ on the cross with His blood. It is a fine, bright, clean linen. The robe of righteousness is with Jesus Christ.

How do we attain this robe of righteousness?

Righteousness is a Robe with Jesus Christ Attained by Faith not Works

By faith we are accounted as righteous.

Abraham was accounted as righteous not because of what he did but because of his faith in God.

Jesus Christ righteousness, the robe of righteousness is only attained by faith.

If it is by works, God could have accounted Abraham righteous because of his work but this is not so.

Apostle Paul tells us that ‘it is of faith that it might be according to grace’ (Rom 4:16). Therefore if it is not of faith it is not according to grace.

Work is not according to grace. Why? Because Jesus finished all work on the cross and confirmed by saying, ‘it is finished’ thus we live not by works but by the finished work of cross = Grace.

Apostle Paul confirms this by saying that works are counted as a debt not grace.

Rom 4:4: Now to him that works the wages are not counted as grace, but as debt.

Therefore to him who does not work and only believes, his faith is accounted as righteousness.

Rom 4:5: But to him that works not, but believes on Him that justifies the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.

For you to be clothed with Jesus Christ robe of righteousness you do not need works but only faith.

Rom 3:22: Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ….

Faith and work are two different things. A person can do the works but not have faith like the Pharisees and a person can have faith and do the works.

Look at the robber with Jesus on the cross. The robber had only faith in Jesus Christ with no works and he was saved.

It is for this reason there will be a big surprise in rapture and in heaven. Many people are busy with works trying to prove a point with God instead of building their faith. Many have ignored faith and gone to works and this equals to hell. Salvation is only by grace through faith

A person only believing with great faith will go to heaven but not a person with works without great faith. See the 3 levels of faith.

Before you start works, make sure you go to heaven first by faith. Because all works without faith, without going to heaven is vanity.

The robe of righteousness of Jesus Christ does not need works/laws to be clothed with but only faith.

Jesus Christ is the end of the law

Rom 10:4: For Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone that believes.

Those in Jesus Christ are not under the law but under grace and these are they who are righteous. These are they who are led not by the law but by the Holy Spirit.

Gal 2:16: Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified

No person is righteous by the law but only by faith. The law only leads to death. You are righteous by faith not by the law.

The people who were given the laws, the children of Israel could not keep them – will you keep them? No! Then come to Christ the end of the law the start of grace – a walk with the Holy Spirit.

When a person comes to Jesus Christ by faith that person is clothed with Jesus Christ robe of righteousness and the fruits of this clothing are manifested in all parts of his/her life be it dressing, speaking, etc.

But these are not the things that distinguish a righteous person and unrighteous person. The only thing that distinguishes are the fruits of the Holy Spirit.

A person can dress like a saint but lack the fruits of the Holy Spirit thus be unrighteous though dressing like righteous.

Jesus Christ will not cloth you with the robe of righteousness and not baptizes you with the Holy Spirit. People baptized with the Holy Spirit manifest clearly the fruits of the Holy Spirit and these are the righteous otherwise not.

People who do not understand and are ignorant of Jesus Christ robe of righteousness create their own righteousness.

Rom 10:3: For they being ignorant of God’s righteousness, and going about to establish their own righteousness, have not submitted themselves unto the righteousness of God.

There own righteousness is attained by keeping laws, tithing, in dressing, offering and sacrifices, attending church every Sunday, etc.

There are two types of righteousness;

  1. Jesus Christ righteousness (the righteousness of God)
  2. Self righteousness

See the 2 types of righteousness

Jesus Christ righteousness is the robe of righteousness

Self righteousness is the righteousness by the law and works also referred to as Pharisees scribes righteousness.

Self righteousness comes from human beings doing works to be accounted as righteous or accounting themselves as righteous because of the works they have done. These are people creating their own righteousness ignorant of Jesus Christ righteousness.

There righteousness is attained by dressing, what they eat, tithe, offerings and sacrifices, attending a building called church every Sunday, etc not by faith – faith takes a back seat.

They seem to be in Jesus Christ but in reality they are in religion ignorant of Jesus Christ grace and faith in Him.

Self righteous people will open to you Bible Law books and show how you are unrighteous yet themselves are unable to keep same laws they want you to keep. If the people given the laws to keep could not keep them (the children of Israel), will you keep them?

Today, many calling themselves Christians have fallen to self righteousness.

By tithing, helping the needy, how they cloth, how they serve humanity, how they plate their hair, etc, they see themselves as righteous while others are not.  This is the righteousness of Pharisees – righteousness of religious people (self- righteousness).

If righteousness is attained by dressing, those who cover themselves from head to toe worshipping another god not Jesus Christ will go to heaven but this is not so

If righteousness could be attained by keeping the laws, the Pharisees could go to heaven but this is not so.

If righteousness is attained by tithing, offering and sacrifices, the Pharisees could have been righteous but this is not so.

Without faith in Jesus Christ you are perishing and all you do is vanity.

Many preachers and teachers today are lost preaching works; how to dress, tithe, what to eat, etc, for you to be righteous instead of preaching Jesus Christ.

It is Jesus Christ who cloths people with His robe of righteousness. It is Him who changes people not you. Your work is to bring people to Jesus Christ for Him to change them not you to change people. You cannot change a human being, only Jesus Christ can.

Do not teach people self righteousness but bring them to Jesus Christ to be clothed with the robe of righteousness.

If you ask many people what is righteousness they will tell you it’s how you live holy; sinless. It’s a lie. A human being cannot be without sin.

They will tell you they are righteous because they do not sin. A lie. They are sinners only that they do not accept they are sinners. And for that reasons they cannot repent their sins.

Remember,

1 John 1:8: If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

You cannot be holy without first being righteous – having Jesus Christ robe of righteousness not your own righteousness.

Dressing, eating, tithing, how you keep your hair, offering, sacrifices, helping people, etc does not make you holy but only faith in Jesus Christ does.

You cannot have self righteousness and still have Jesus Christ righteousness. It is a lie.

God gave human beings freedom to choose; love is freedom. You are free to choose Jesus Christ robe of righteousness by faith or attaining your own (self) righteousness by works and keeping laws.

Ask yourself, whose righteousness do you have; Jesus Christ robe or self righteousness?

Remember salvation is for those clothed with Jesus Christ robe of righteousness not those self-righteous.

Self righteous people are so righteous to need Jesus Christ. They are like the Pharisees. Jesus is for sinners not those righteous – He is for those who know they are sinners needing His righteousness.

I am happy that Jesus came for sinners like me who know they cannot be perfect until the day we are raptured.

If you look careful at people who shout loud righteousness and holiness, many do not know what it is but instead they shout because of/referring to their own (self) righteousness which they show and boast off. They know nothing about Jesus Christ robe of righteousness and how it is attained.

Seek Jesus Christ robe of righteousness by faith not by your works. It is only attained by faith.
