Ex 20:14: You shall not commit adultery
Adultery means voluntary sexual intercourse between a married person and a person other than his or her spouse. Adultery is prohibited and it is a sin.
The world tells man that s/he is an animal; s/he can have sex with anyone anyhow anyplace. S/he can act anyhow immorally like an animal.
The fact is that man is not an animal but man. There is a reason man was called man not an animal and there is a big difference between man and animals.
Man is made in the image of God while animals are not. Gen 1:27: So God created man in his own image, in the image of God created he him; male and female created he them. Man is a trinity; has body, soul and spirit while animals are not trinity; they have just the body and soul (from the article; The Holy Trinity).
The primary purpose of sex is not procreation (creating kids) or recreation (having fun) but unification; two souls being merged into one. Gen 2:24: Therefore shall a man leave his father and his mother, and shall cleave unto his wife: and they shall be one flesh. One flesh is one soul one body.
Primary consequence of committing adultery
Therefore, the primary consequence of adultery is not unwanted pregnancies, HIV/AIDS, broken families or all the problems which comes along with it but the primary issue is that it affects and destroys the soul. Proverb 6:32: But who commits adultery with a woman lacks understanding: he that does it destroys his own soul.
Each person has a soul different from the other person. What happens during sex is the mixing up of these two different souls to bring out one soul. It is like having a glass full of blue juice and another full of red juice and mixing or merging them together. When they mix, they produce a violet colored juice. This is what happens in sex. Two souls merge or mix, producing one soul: unification.
Outside marriage, sex destroys the soul irreversibly. The two souls do not merge or mix. sex outside marriage does not unify souls instead it empties them reason a person feels empty after having adultery. You will hear someone say, ‘I got a piece of her or him’.
Truly this is what happens. When you commit adultery, a piece of you, your soul, goes. The more you do it the more you keep on loosing yourself until it comes to a point were you feel totally empty inside; just a vessel body which empty inside.
All glory to Jesus Christ, Amen.
