It is Not People’s Responsibility to Take Care of a Preacher

It is not people’s responsibility to take care of a preacher – whosoever has send you, must take care of you.

1Kings 17:3-4: Get away from here, and turn eastward, and hide yourself by the Brook Cherith that is before Jordan. And it shall be, that you shall drink of the brook; and I have commanded the ravens to feed you there.

1Kings:17:9: Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you

It is Not People’s Responsibility to Take Care of a Preacher

In the Bible we see God Himself talking care of His servants

God took care of His servant Moses. Moses never depended on the Children of Israel but instead the Children of Israel depended on him. It was not the responsibility of the children of Israel to take care of Moses and his family but it was God’s responsibility.

It was God’s responsibility to take care of Joshua, Elijah, Elisha, Isaiah, Jeremiah, Hosea, and every one of His servants. And so it is Jesus Christ responsibility to take care of every one of His servant He has send out today.

I was brought up as a shepherd (my testimony) shepherding my biological father’s flock. The flock depended on me to take them where there is feed/grass and take care of their needs. I never depended on the flock but on my biological father because it’s him who send me and the flock belonged to him.

Jesus Christ is the great Good Shepherd (John 10:11,14).

When Jesus Christ sends you, you become a shepherd under Him, of His sheep – His sheep not yours. Your work is to take care of the sheep leading them where Master Jesus instructs you, and they depend on you. You never depend on the sheep but you depend on your Master, Jesus Christ whom has send you.

It is not the responsibility of the sheep to take care of you but your responsibility to take care of the sheep. David was a shepherd who took care of his father’s flock – the flock never took care of him.

If you depend on the flock, you will eat the flock – be a wolf in sheep’s clothing, a brood of viper (Mt 7, 12, 23) . Whosoever has send you must take care of you.

You cannot go to a person’s farm and start working without you first agreeing with the owner of the farm your pay. You cannot start a job without knowing how much you will be paid. Even today, employers tell their employees of their salary even before they start work.

Same principle applies with God – before God sends you, He will tell you of your pay, salary, and provision, and assure you that He will take care of you.

God is faithful and indeed He takes care of whosoever He has send – I am a living testimony to this.

If you go to someone’s house without permission/authorization, clean it and when the person comes you demand a pay, the person has the right to send you to prison because you have done work s/he has not send you to do and in addition to trespassed.

If you go to a person’s farm and work without the person sending you, the person has the right to send you to prison without pay for trespassing

If you make yourself a shepherd and Jesus has not send you, He will not take care of you but only send you to prison (hell) reason He said

Mt 7:22-23 Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name drive out demons and perform many miracles?’ Then I will tell them plainly, ‘I never knew you; depart from Me, you workers of lawlessness.’

Many people preaching the gospel are in lack because they are doing what Jesus has not send them to do. Your provision and care is in doing God’s Will.

As I taught you, there is no money riches and wealth in pulpit preaching of the gospel but in supporting and facilitating it. Many people come to preach the gospel for money and riches but all in vain. See ways of preaching the gospel

If you are send to lead a gathering remember, you cannot go to farm and the same time eating the seed, you cannot go to shepherd and at the same time eating the sheep/flock.

People ask me, how do I survive since I do not ask for money, tithe, offerings, donations, etc? Because before I started preaching and teaching, I first finished up with God about my provision and care until the day I will join Him in His kingdom.

2 Major Ways God takes care of His servants

In this order (in summary), God takes care of His servants

1. Commands a person

God commands a person take care of His servants.

Elijah did not know that God had commanded a widow to take care of him and that the widow needed Elijah to live throughout the famine years Elijah had prophesied, not only that for the resurrection of her dead child

1Kings:17:9: Arise, go to Zarephath, which belongs to Zidon, and dwell there: behold, I have commanded a widow there to sustain you

God commanded a woman to build a rest place and care for Elisha and the woman needed Elisha to bear a child (2 Kings 4)

I taught you that there are people created for this assignment – to take care of God’s servant and God showers them with every wealth and riches they need for the gospel (ways of preaching the gospel). This are the people He commands and sends to His servants.

God does not command entire congregation/gathering to take care of a preacher but he commands 1, 2, few specific people who even may not be part of the congregation he is leading.

It’s God’s work to command a person to take care of a His servant not your work as a servant. Neither is it your work to beg in the name of offerings, tithes, sacrifices, etc, but it is God’s work to make people tithe, offer, sacrifice, etc.

If God sends a person to take care of His servant and that person denies, God goes to another person and another until whomever does His Will. Woe to you if you are send and deny – your deliverance healing salvation depends on that. See you will go to hell for not doing God’s Will

And if entire human kind refuses, there are rocks, trees, animals, etc, reason you see a raven bring Elijah meat (1 Kings 17).

2. Heavenly Angels of the LORD

If human kind and earthly creation are not available, God will send an Angel to take care for his servant.

At a certain time, we see God use His Angel to take care of Elijah

1 Kings 19:5-8 And as he lay and slept under a juniper tree, behold, then an Angel touched him, and said unto him, Arise and eat. And he looked, and, behold, there was a cake baked on the coals, and a cruse of water at his head. And he did eat and drink, and laid him down again. And the angel of the LORD came again the second time, and touched him, and said, Arise and eat; because the journey is too great for thee. And he arose, and did eat and drink, and went in the strength of that meat forty days and forty nights unto Horeb the Mount of God.

I vividly remember in my molding years, I had gone over several days with no single meal and immediately after the vision of Armageddon, an Angel of my LORD, in white with wings and hands, came with food. He woke me up, I ate and slept. Waking up in the morning, my stomach was so full and the smell in my mouth was of the food I had eaten brought by the Angel.

When there is no one to use, God Angels will come from heaven for you if you are Jesus Christ servant.

Depend on God, He is Faithful

Depend on people, you will be poor and a beggar

God takes care of His servants – it is His responsibility

Whosoever has send you must take care of you
