Anointing is the Holy Spirit Himself

Anointing is the Holy Spirit Himself. Anointing is not a substance, a thing, an object, a liquid, a oil, etc, but it is a Person; the Holy Spirit

Isa 61:1 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor. He has sent Me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives and release from darkness to the prisoners

Anointing is the Holy Spirit Himself

The Spirit of the Lord God (Isa 61:1) is the Holy Spirit.

When Jesus said,

The Spirit of the Lord is on Me, because He has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed (Lk 4:18)

Jesus was saying that He was anointed by the Holy Spirit.

When did Jesus receive this anointing? When He was baptized by appointed John the Baptist who come to reveal Him (John 1:31) and this is how it was,

Mt 3:16-17 As soon as Jesus was baptized, He went up out of the water. At that moment heaven was opened, and he saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting on Him. And a voice from heaven said, “This is my Son, whom I love; with him I am well pleased.”

The Spirit of God, the Holy Spirit, descended to Jesus as a dove and a light – the Anointing

The disciples walked with Jesus but never anointed until Jesus was crucified, died and resurrected. And twice they received the anointing (Holy Spirit) as follows;

1. When Jesus breathed to them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit’

John 20:22 When He had said this, He breathed on them and said, ‘Receive the Holy Spirit’.

Here the disciples were baptized with the Holy Spirit – the anointing moved from being with them to dwelling in them; the in anointing.

Remember the disciples were never baptized with water because when Jesus was baptized with water by John the Baptist, John’s ministry ended and baptism with water was replaced with Baptism with the Holy Spirit as John testifies,

Mt 3:11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance: but He who comes after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: He shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost and with fire

2. During the Pentecost (Feasts of Weeks)

Jesus instructed His disciples before He ascended to go wait for the promise (Acts 1:4). It is during the Feast of Weeks when the anointing, Holy Spirit, descended upon them – the Anointing Upon; the Power (Acts 1:8)

Acts 2:1-3 When the day of Pentecost came, they were all together in one place. Suddenly a sound like a mighty rushing wind came from heaven and filled the whole house where they were sitting. And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.

See the 2 types of anointing – in and upon

The in anointing makes you a Bride of Christ (the church) while anointing upon is for preaching the gospel; it is for those called, molded and send.

See difference between being called and send

Anointing is for a purpose.

When Jesus said He is anointed, He revealed the purpose of the anointing … because He has anointed Me to preach good tidings to the poor. He has sent Me to proclaim deliverance to the captives and recovery of sight to the blind, to release the oppressed (Lk 4:18)

Baptism with the Holy Spirit, in anointing, is for salvation. It is the in anointing that makes you a Bride of Christ, a church.

We see Paul in Corinth asking those Baptized with water if they were baptized with the Holy Spirit – they knew not about the Holy Spirit. And through Paul they received the Holy Spirit making them a Bride of Christ. (Acts 19)

Baptism with water does not make you a Bride of Christ (church) but Baptism with the Holy Spirit does. Many were baptized by John the Baptist but persecuted, blasphemed, abused Jesus – perished.

Tithing, offering, fasting, sacrificing, going to church, helping the needy, serving in a ministry, preaching the gospel, etc does not make you a Bride of Christ (saved) but the Holy Spirit dwelling in you, in anointing, baptism with the Holy Spirit does.

It is the in anointing that makes you be led by the Spirit and you are obedient – Sons of God are those led by the Spirit (Romans 14). Many today calling themselves of Christ are led by many things not the Spirit of God; the Holy Spirit.

Anointing Upon is Power of preaching the gospel. It is this anointing that casts out demons, heals, delivers, sets captives free, etc. It is the anointing that performs miracles and wonders.

Anointing Upon does not save, only anointing in does – when you lose in anointing you perish.

A person can lose the in anointing but still have the anointing upon like Saul and go to hell (perish). A person can preach the gospel with miracles and wonders and perish. I saw many who preached the gospel in hell.

See my journey inside hell, you will go to hell for not doing God’s Will and why the Holy Spirit departs

Many people claim with their mouths to be anointed, to be Bride of Christ but they are not so. How do you know a person is anointed?

How to identify the Anointing (the Holy Spirit) in a Person

The Holy Spirit dwelling in a Person (in anointing) is known by;

1. Looking at the temple

Our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit (1 Cor 6:9). When you look at a temple outside, do you see God?

Many claim to be anointed but their temples are a temple of Satan with abominations, accursed things, foreign gods, dressed like harlots, etc – Holy Spirit cannot dwell in search.

Look at what comes out from that temple – if its hate, arguments, gossip, rumors, filthy language, abuses, etc, the Holy Spirit is not in that temple.

A temple in whom the Spirit of God dwells is Holy inside and outside

2. Fruits of the Holy Spirit

A temple in whom the Holy Spirit dwells manifests His fruits.

Gal 5: 22-23 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.

Dreams and visions are not signs of anointing for the Holy Spirit can give you dreams when with you not in you. Remember Pharaoh dreamed, Nebuchadnezzar dreamed, etc

See the 3 relationships of the Holy Spirit with humans

Speaking in tongues is not a sign of Baptism with the Holy Spirit. See speaking in tongues

Anointing Upon is manifested by signs miracles and wonders (Mk 16:15-19). Many people you see preaching the gospel claiming anointed and send they are not. the Kingdom of God is not in word but in Power.

Today when you hear a person say, ‘I am anointed’ and ask them what is the anointing, its purpose – they know not yet claiming to be anointed.

A president of a nation does not need to say ‘I am the president’ but a counterfeit has to shout to be recognized. An anointed person does not shout ‘I am anointed’ because even the demons know but a counterfeit must shout.

Reason a man anointed to preach the gospel will not go giving himself and shouting titles e.g. prophet, apostle, evangelist, etc because that person knows servanthood and the anointing through signs miracles and wonders manifests Himself.

See Jesus Christ servants do not give themselves titles

Do not go shouting ‘am anointed – Anointing manifests Himself and if indeed He is in you, even demons will say indeed this man/woman is anointed.

Anointing is the Holy Spirit but today anointing has being turned into objects, houses, oils, soaps, ornaments, etc – it is witchcraft. See anointing oil (next teaching)

Any other anointing you claim to have or people claim to have or have received and it is not the Holy Spirit, those are demons – you need deliverance.
